Precise in her methodology, Teresa Burga notes in the margins of her drawings the day and time she starts and finishes them. Ever since she started working as an artist, in the 1960s, she has taken a playful approach toward systematic processes. Critiquing the labor arenas traditionally assigned to women, such as housework and childcare, she interrogates the role of women in her home country of Peru (whose experiences are shared by many throughout the world).
