MA Graphic Communication Design In Progress 2025

Navigating the contemporary design landscape is never straightforward. As the students on MA Graphic Communication Design will tell you, charting a path through the diverse practices, media and contexts of our field requires quick thinking and the ability to change course at any moment. Lines of enquiry branch off in multiple directions, some trails seem to suddenly go cold, and some roads are littered with obstacles that need to be cleared in order to move forward.

RE-ROUTING seeks to map the labyrinth of research practices that continue to be explored by this year’s cohort of designers. In this publication you’ll find written and visual contributions from each student, as well as a set of collaboratively drawn pathways–made using a custom p5.js tool–that illustrate how their individual and collective journeys are anything but linear.
