<p class="p1">Graphic design is made of dots. Dots of ink on paper, pixels on screens, and shapes defined by nodes, together giving form to the images, text, and data of a visual communication practice. Gestalt constructions whose smaller individual parts add up to a greater whole. (You get the point.)</p> <p class="p1">MA Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins is also made of dots. An array of points mapped onto an expansive field of practice, representing both the individual positions of our designers as well as the wider network that they produce as a community. A dynamic constellation of projects in perpetual motion, sometimes connected by bold straight lines and sometimes by tentative dotted ones.</p> <p class="p1">In this issue of our annual publication, we invite you to explore a body of student work still in progress. Each contribution represents a point-in-time snapshot of a critical enquiry through and into the practices of graphic and communication design.
