<p>Machine intelligence isn’t coming—something that will arrive, fully formed, enclosed in a humanoid companion. It is already here, in anonymised military kill chains, in the language models that populate targeted advertisements and search-engine falsehoods, and in our increasingly hallucinatory visual world. Its promises—of liberation from work, of expanded enlightenment—have been swiftly eclipsed by a darkening political climate.</p> <p>In <em>Proof of Personhood</em>, artists and researchers survey the cultures and aesthetics incubated by our AI present, stripping it of its celebratory corporate veneer. What is revealed? That dismantling and destroying the world we have has been sold to us as the price of admission to the mirror world to come.</p>
